In emergency situations, time is critical to avoid life-threatening delays.  Emergency personnel—physicians, nurses, paramedics—can encounter a number of unpredictable vascular challenges and conditions.  VEINSITE® allows emergency medical professionals to rapidly identify, locate valves and bifurcations, and make an informed decision for IV placement.

Our son was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. We have been in and out of hospitals from central Maine to Boston since that time and know first-hand the trauma, not just to the patient, but to the family when medical personnel cannot obtain an IV or access a port for one reason or another. The Veinsite was immediately able to pick up our son’s deep, scarred veins, something that surgical staff, radiology, and nurses alike were often unable to do.  We got in touch with the company and they graciously allowed us to try the equipment on our rig.  If it helps just one patient, we feel as a service, it was worth the price.  As with any piece of possible life saving equipment, you hope you never have to use it.  But should it ever be needed, Harmony Ambulance has this piece of equipment on board Gloria Bagley, Firefighter/EMT, Harmony Regional Ambulance Service
